Netcam Watcher can generate alarms when motion occurs, when it should not occur (for instance, in the dead of night). It can also generate alarms when cameras stop responding or go offline.
Alarms can automatically enabled at certain time of the day, so you can fo example only enable alarms at night and on weekends.
Alarms can be generated in various ways:
- An audible alert, such as a bell. Or a recording can be played: "Get out: You have been recorded and the police is on their way."
- The camera causing the alarm can be shown, either in Netcam Watcher's main display or in a seperate browser window. This is useful when a guard is monitoring any cameras - the alarm brings his attention to the camera that generated the alarm.
- An email can be sent along with an image showing the frame that caused the alarm to be triggered. So you can see whether the alarm is an intruder or just a cat or a cleaner.
- You can trigger other external devices, either locally by running a program, or remotely, be sending a request to a website.
- Alarm images can be sent to a remote computer, so that an offsite record is kept in case the PC with Netcam Watcher running on is tampered with or even stolen!
